About Me
Thomas is an Electronics Engineer, with experience in PCB design, embedded systems, and programming. His background in hardware and production gives him an edge to provide solutions that are reliable, scalable, and sustainable. Thomas is fuelled by his passion for embedded hardware. He considers himself as a “forever student”, eager to build both on his academic and technical foundations in electronics and stay in tune with the latest technology through continued personal projects and professional development.
Thomas’ hunger for knowledge and determination to solve practical problems has contributed to his most recent work at Garrison. There, he designed an innovative hardware solution to low-level testing of an already existing production test system. Meanwhile, he vastly improved the productivity of the production team by providing new view and approach to problems, further implementing his latest up-to-date knowledge of hardware testing and electronics knowledge.
Thomas believes in mindfulness in engineering is key to success – a tenant he lives out through his interest in different type of sports and creative outlets like Brazilian ju-jitsu, volleyball, running, and filmmaking. Thomas is currently working at Garrison but is always up for freelance and contracting work that will challenge his critical thinking. Reach out to Thomas by clicking the “hire me” button below.

Experience
Jr. Electronics Engineer at GArrison
Sept 2021 - Present
Led development of test design for controller board for mass production, and coordinated production team as well as hardware team to take project from its initial proof of concept to its final test rig design.
Designed PCB board using Altium Designer to create interface between Raspberry Pi and controller board with added features such
as io expander and analogue switch.
Implemented Raspberry Pi and wrote software to emulate different parts of system that is integrated with controller board to test all
interfaces, including UART, I2C, SPI, PWM and GPIOs.
Worked collaboratively with production team to prioritise concurrent projects and ensure that products are reliable, tested and efficiently delivered within established timeframe.
Worked directly with subcontractors to ensure production process runs smoothly and liaised directly with buyers to arrange redeliveries and resolve RMAs.
EEE at University of Southampton
Sept 2019 - Present
Managed team of 7 members to develop smart electricity meter to manage micro-grid with budget of under £25 in 7 weeks.
Designed and built power supply unit, smart meter, interface circuitry, control software and display.
Researched and developed most efficient capacitor supply unit which converted AC line input to DC voltage needed for functionality of smart meter using Multisim, Veecad and Tinycad.
Resolved issues related to interface between micro grid and microcontroller by constructing voltage level shifter, voltage divider and op amp circuitry to convert AC and DC signals to be compatible with either micro grid or microcontroller.
